How to drive more traffic to a site?

social bookmarking and posting links to your content on related sites. Worked wonders for me.

What I do is write one good article.

Submit the article to maybe 20 forums (try to make the posts interesting)

submit it to digg

submit to onlywire.com

submit to stumble upon

rinse and repeat.

You'll also want to take a look at this and FOLLOW IT! Do all of the stuff that is HOT and avoid all the stuff that is BAD.

also make sure you do keyword research and write stuff that people are actively looking for. Make sure you also analyze how much competition there is for the keyword. Only write for keywords that have less than 5million results. Any thing over that and you are going to have a hell of a time ranking. If you can't rank in the top 10 of the google serp. Don't bother.

You have to plan this all out BEFORE you start the website. The last thing you want to do is write a lot of content then find out that the content you were writing wasn't in demand or there is too much competition for it.

Another thing I've found out is that you need to write content that google THINKs is good. You don't need to write anything that gives a new perspective on the topic. Doing simple stuff like a top 10 list, trvia (with popular search terms), facts, tutorials, how to guides will work great. Even summarizing and paraphrasing content and adding a little extra to it will work great. You will want to write good content for THE GOOGLE BOT not necessarily for the reader. My main focus is ranking high and getting Google searchers to my page. I don't really care about repeat visitors. Most people don't visit blogs repeated times willingly unless it is a very very very popular blog.
If you do your homework you should be able to get your page in your desired keyword in under 24 hours.
