I am looking for a way to download video clips form news sites to my PC, for use in a powerpoint presentation about media and the internet. I.E. http://www.myfoxla.com/myfox/MyFox/pages/sidebar_video.jsp?contentId=2313938&version=1&locale=EN-US
I found ways to get the videos from places like Youtube... but not out of the flashplayers like at the link above. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Look at their source code and look for the file.. (usually with the extendion .swf). After you find this, copy and paste it into your browser, and then download it.

I am looking at the source code, but I don't see anything that identifies this particular video in the code, if you have time to look at the code for me, maybe you can find it? Maybe I am just not seeing it?

There's Firefox plugins that can download flash videos (FLA's)... that might solve your problem.

    Hi,

This is all wrong, flash video is flv, not swf, not fla.

Easiest way is to look in your temporary internet folder for large files recently downloaded ;), they must be the ones you're after. Rename them to .flv, get yourself an flv player and enjoy.

That was the ticket, thanks!!!.... I followed the steps I found on the net to find the VISTA temp internet files, and sure enough there it was, as a .flv file.... got a freeware .flv converter, and got it in the presentation.... thank you again! :D
