I have heard about this term Viral marketing. People say that it help in promoting your site and increase your traffic. I don't know how to do viral marketing can you people give me some ideas? my strategy was 1st i used my domain and install it with viral script like ihate script then when my domain got high PR, i remove the viral script then install my site then boom you have a high PR .. just leave your site if your lazy like me then you will be amazed you'll be receiving lots of visitors daily.mostly you got that from search engine.
Well you could always put a 'invite a friend' form on your homepage, i've not looked but i;m sure you could find a free version somewhere. The overall pretty crappy social network software i bought (for an attempt at social network setup i did) had a relatively good viral marketing e-mail thing built into it, but it was basically just that, and e-mail contacts list invite thing.
The whole object of viral marketing is to get people who visit your site to tell others and then the people they tell about it - then go on to tell even more people. Hence it acts like a virus. So you need to give a user some sort of incentive to tell their friends - use either email form to tell their friends or alternative you could put a small pop up on your site with a link and ask them to post it 5 times somewhere on the interent before they get access to your content.
