Tips for SEO on Yahoo are the same as on google. Build links and optimise the tags on your pages. Yahoo seems to like low-quality links a bit more than Google in my experience, e.g. sitewide links count for more than with the big G.

One more thing is that playing with the on page factors can sometimes create huge impacts on your web rankings but note that there is no shortcut way to have top rankings.

As Brian65 said, it's actually use same technique with Google.
And for my websites, when all is indexed by G, then Yahoo always indexed my site too.
For some reason, some of my sites is at higher rank in yahoo than google..

All you need to do is keep on building the backlinks and updating the content, Yahoo will pick up the links same way as any other search engines.

Yahoo is much easier to "game" than Google. Backlinks with your anchor text are more effective there, but it takes longer for them to fully add your site.

Same basic rules. Only Yahoo gives more emphasis on the meta stuffs and content.

yahoo will rank you good by building links regardless of where you post them whereby google wants you to post links only to sites that has something in common with your own

I have a few sites with just about 50 links and they are rank higher than sites with 15k-20k links. i have a site with no external links and still rank higher than some with a few hundred links.

So I don't think Yahoo emphasize a lot on backlinks like Google. You just need to try some of your search terms and see the prove yourself. :)

The past year or 6 month yahoo has been taken longer to index sites for me.

It seems when I submit a site to them it takes weeks longer to index then if I don’t submit it. I kind of wonder if it is a scam because when you submit a site fro free they try to get you to give them money and when you don’t it can take weeks or even months for the site to get indexed?
