    You need to do competition analysis first for your keywords and then chose your keywords accordingly.Secondly start optimizing On page and lastly do Off page optimization as long as you can do for keeping your keywords in the first page.

    Its simple if you understand the process. You should choose the right keyword according to your site, find your competitors, submit your site link in all niche directories, start doing article marketing and all other off-page optimization process to start link building. Once you are done with all these process you will get back links this helps to increase your keyword position and page rank. You should updated your site frequently by posting interesting articles on it to make people stay on your website.

    Don't just focus on a few main keywords. If you have many products available, break them into categories. Categories should be chosen based on what makes sense AND keywords.

    If you have main categories that include good keywords, then you should have a better chance of ranking for those if your category pages have great, relevant content. Product category keywords usually have less competition so you want the structure and navigation of the site to support your keywords.

    Main categories are usually linked from every page on your site. By having a category use an exact keyword, you will have keyword anchor text from everypage of your site.

    You can then build links from many external sites and the juice will flow to your category pages which will end up being your main keywords.

    So many people just create generic category names and forget how important it is. The right keyword as a category name will mean a good keyword in the url, page title, heading tags and more.

    Hello ashwini.gangamwar,

    For choosing best keywords to rank for your business, you should first go for deep analysis of the keywords related to your business, and divide the keywords in three categories, high competition, medium competition and low competition keywords. Then go for your website on-page optimization create your title meta tags in a way that it covers all the main keywords from above all three categories and start promoting your business or website sing low competition keywords and target them first rank them then go for medium and then high. This is best way i have learned from my experiences.

    Thank you
    Danny

    My suggestions to you as follows;

    i. Make sure you've a well written piece of text on your website and ensure its uniqueness via copyscape.com
    ii. Enable static url (most e-commerce softwares support it)
    iii. Target keyword specific product pages and
    iv. Start off-page optimization along with social media

    ..and not to mention that you have to setup other onpage works too, such as meta, title, sitemap etc.

    Thanks
