How to Do SEO for a blog

I would create a keyword list and organize them into 5 different categories. So you would have 5 pages targeting your primary keywords with maybe one or two more LSI keywords on that page. Make sure to include your keyword in the title, H1 headings, Image ALT tags, META KEYWORDS and META DESCRIPTION. If you are using wordpress then get a plugin called All-in-one-SEO. It will help you add all the header information for you. Use your keyword in your body at a density around about 2% but do not get too paranoid about this. Have your keyword in bold now and again and include links with your keyword as anchor text to other websites with authority like Wikipedia. Remeber to add a NoFollow tag to this link as you do not want to lose your link juice. This will pretty much get your on page stuff sorted out. Now all you need to do is build links to your page using a mixture of anchor text. 70% your keyword and 30% a variation of your keyword. For example: "Your Keyword" 70% of the time and then maybe "Buy Your Keyword" or "Download Your Keyword" 30% of the time. Use social bookmarking, blog commenting. forum posting and of course article marketing is very good for building backlinks. Keep at it and be consistent and you will get there.

It depends on which blog platform you are using. I will assume that you are using wordpress. Download a few plugins to help you - search for SEO in the plugins search. Thewn download one that allows you to edit meta tags. Also one that places social buttons on the site. THen do some link building eg:
directory submission
social bookmarking sumission
link exchanges
blog commenting

 

By using blog forums, community, directory and blog commenting are good ways to promote blogs.

After creating a blog first of all you should verify if with all major search engines with verification code

 

for the optimization of your blog you may do -
Blog commenting'
Submission of your blog to some blog directories
and the most essential part is keep updating your blog on regular basis.

If you are really serious about your blog, you should register your own domain name and move it from blogspot. I think it will be seen more seriously if it is it's own domain.
