Hi, I am new (actually i am starting it with this post) to this link exchange biz. I only know that you post a request that you need links and people will come up with their sites etc. Now all is well but my question is: If I pay someone for putting a link on his website and later they take payment and remove the link or do not put at all then I am at loss. So what is the proper/most practical procedure to do this business ? Thanks.
You could always do it here on DP or other similar webmaster forums. All you need to do is to look at the person's reputation or iTrader (if they already have a rating)
Hi, Thiagoo - What if i pay 50% advance and they don't put links at all ? Trichnosis - They won't put my links until i pay them and if i pay any amount in advance then i have same question as Thiagoo for you too. Thanks.
You could also ask past buyers by contacting them but that's quite a tedious task Usually if it's a popular site, there is not reason the webmaster 's cheating you otherwise you may wish to go with adbrite, textlinkads...
That's one reason to buy them from directories, like mine, which advertise permanent listings. Businesses won't take the links down behind your back.
Any business-deal operates on a certain amount of trust. Serious businesses don't just want your pay-check this month, but also next month. This means that they will keep the link up. Obviously that doesn't work for places where you only pay once - in which case some research is needed.
you could buy links from a company that sells links! there are a few. (I am not sure if I can mention their website here) or buy links from forums like this one! i have tried it once and it worked! or buy them from directories it really depends on what you want to get from this link, traffic, PR etc Cheers Stelios
Hi, You're absolutely correct, but then how would you know weather the seller is serious or fake ? There must be some kind of technique / check / procedure to all this. Thanks.
You mean like mind-reading? Seriously though: a serious site likely has a serious webmaster. Other than that, checking whether the link is still up before you pay the second time. Also, if you find a popular site, that isn't monetized much, and get in touch with them - they will likely be so happy that you are willing to pay them for a link, they would not dream of taking it off. There are tools to check lots of links at once (just read that in another thread on here somewhere).
