All of the methods users told above all fine to do but i think do struggle and struggle and then you will get backlinks as i think luck also take part in life.

 

If you your website is new, then for first months focus on content, build no links, only after 2 months start building niche related links, which you should have already acquired, if your content is superb

 

make forum posts...use your link in your signature.make comments on different blogs

Well doing SEO with this approach is not good.I think you should hire some one for it.Because after Google latest algorithms you can be penalized due to bad links as well.Now there are considered as spamming.

 

Blog Posting, Social Bookmarking, Article Submission, Press Release Submission is the best link building ways.

 

For link building there are so many options like Submitting directories, sbm, article and many more but blog commenting and forum posting is best among them ad also gives quick response................

Stick to the content of your site make it unique, provide something usefull to the web users wait over time and people of your niche will start linking you and hence a pr will come your way ...
