I am getting a little confused. If I utilize Java SDK for the further developement of a Java based program, which is current distributed under an MIT license, and after value adding and debugging and fork branding, how do I go about licensing for redistribution? If I distribute under MIT, doesn't that conflict with Oracles licensing scheme and vice versa? Or does my need to pay for a prop dev license to use in production software have no effect on my licensing choices? I do not have the cash on hand to play legal roulette like Google. I know that their product was a jvm and mine is a binary and source product higher on the stack, but what Oracle has done via Google after buying Sun (I believe specifically for the revenue they could get via litigation and not product creation), this is all as clear as mud to me. I hope I just have my tin hat on too tight, but It seems that I am f|d with either licensing scheme.
