I'm not interested in the A-store. I run a book site and it would be tremendously tedious to add the individual html for each book. Is there a way you can have the image/text combo affiliate auto generated by the page it's on? I'm sorry if this is easy to answer but I looked over and kept seeing references to the new text program turning into links and A-stores. I need a block of code on each page to be auto generated displaying the most relevant image/text for a product to be sold. Is this possible? Anyone have success with this? Am I better off slaving entering the exact book code, or would visitors become ad blind to the same one eventually? Will give rep for good answers, thanks...and if this isn't possible with Amazon, is there an affiliate it's possible with?
You can dynamically build an RSS feed to pull relevant data from Amazon. There is information on RSS feeds in the associates area of Amazon. I don't have the link here or I would post it for you. I use CaRP to pull my feeds, both from Amazon and eBay. http://www.geckotribe.com/rss/carp/ They have a free version, CaRP SE, you can use to see if you like it. I upgraded to the full version. Their Amazon example code and feed display is at http://carp.docs.geckotribe.com/examples/amazon.php Disclaimer: I am not associated with CaRP except as a satisfied user. Also, I am new to DP so if I am not supposed to post links in my replies please tell me so I will not do so in the future.
This is copied straight from Amazon: With Omakase Links, Associates can now automatically display the products and content that visitors to the page are most likely to buy. Adding Omakase Links to your pages is easy. Use the Build Links tool to select the appearance and behavior of the ad, and then simply cut-and-paste the code into your template or Web page. Your page will now display Omakase Links and after a short learning period, the ads will be optimized based on what the Associate has been successful with in the past; what that user has been interested in; and what the site is about. Because Omakase Links optimize on more than just the page itself, Associates may see a range of different products in their links but they will also see that the links learn what their visitors want. In fact, because Omakase Links aim to show the right product to the right person, each person visiting their site may see different products. Sprout might be the solution. Look the example at my website, kiwipulse.com. Very easy to build and link to the items
