On Android, I set to open links in Firefox instead of in-app (prefer the control in FF). However, I keep getting this annoying message "you're going to a link outside facebook", and I have to dismiss it before it will proceed.

any way to disable this nonsense?

It's not a firefox issue - it's just facebook letting you know you clicked an external link. If you then get unsavory content facebook get to say "we warned you".
