i have 2 new pc's on my lan i am afraid may they find my site and clicking on ads from same lan ip so how to disable vieing ads on these 2 pcs i cant find the java disabling on ie well it was a question thread but now i found the answer i like to share it here: You'll find the setting under Tools->Internet Options->Security Tab bar->Custom Level->Disable Active scripting (at the end of the list).
Another option would be to edit the hosts file on each machine to block the ads completely. This would eliminate the possibility of anyone clicking on the ads accidentally. -mnc
Mido, just disabling JavaScript will make impossible to view most of "active" sites. What you can do is to put your sites into "Restricted sites" zone (Tools->Internet Options->Security Tab) and ajust JavaScript options for this zone only. BR, AdStarter
That is the beauty of using the hosts file to block ads from being displayed. It does not impact any other features of any website, other than blocking all ads from being displayed. -mnc
There are a few threads here in the forums that detail various scenarios on how to block ads to prevent accidental clicks. One of those is to use the hosts file on your Windows machine. Here is more info than you probably care to know about the hosts file, but will provide more knowledge than I can in one post: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hosts_file (sorry cannot post live links yet) Okay, so back to how you actually block ads on your machine. First you need to find the hosts file, typically found in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc on XP machines. Open this file in notepad or any other text editor. You should see something along the lines of an entry like: 127.0.0.1 localhost After that line, add the following line: 127.0.0.1 pagead2.googlesyndication.com Save and close the file. Open your browser and navigate to your page or any other website and you will see that the ads are no longer visible. If you only want to do this while testing/working on your site, you can comment out the line when you are doing by adding "# " before the line added above. As noted earlier, this will block ads on all websites. You may or may not like that approach, but it will certainly prevent anyone from accidentally clicking. -mnc
You've got to restart your browser, at the very least, and possibly even restart your entire computer for the changes to work. Your computer may only look at the hosts file once when it first sets up the internet connection, and not look at your changes til you reboot.
seems like it take sometime to work i didnt restarted anything just 1 hour and i cant see ads now thank you guys
