    Hi,

When someone searches in google images and visits any page to get the full image, they get the big image on a lightbox type screen. And this causes many vists to your website being lost due to this.

Here is an image to help you quickly understand what i'm referring to: http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/8580/googleimg.jpg

I have seen some websites when the lightbox preview type of thing doesnt appear and you get redirected to the webpage directly.

can you someone pls guide me in the right direction?

    Thanks

Do a forum search on this subject. I remember someone posted a script to do what you want.

i think by protecting your images from hotlinking can help.. i noticed that there are images that redirect to a website when you click it on the image search results..

    Hi,

Yes thats exactly what i'm referring to.

I just checked abt hotlinking too, but it seems it can only be used to redirect to another image & not the webpage. for eg: redirect to a blank img

    Thanks

I found this page searching for an answer to the same lightbox preview annoyance. Has anyone found a fix for it yet? Thanks.

    Annoyance???

Why don't you build eye pleasing web site instead of blocking unpleasant one?

I wanna see site before I go there and thanks to Google now I can.

    :)

The annoyance is that it makes you load the pages twice. You can already see the preview in the search page. It makes you close the lightbox preview after loading a page, and reloads the page again. Why do you want to load the page twice? If i already clicked the link its because i want to see the page! =p
