I said it before, I'll say it again: Get Roboform!!! It's free to try and it's just one click to fill forms. It will install the Roboform toolbar in your browser and then, all your identities appear as buttons on it. All you have to do is click the button for the site's info you want to fill out and it's all done. IN FACT, when you hover on the button you even get a "Fill and Submit" option. Clicking on that does exactly that ..... fills the form and submits the info ..... Just one click ..... Give it a shot .... You'll love it!
Sounds nice. I'm just not hip on shelling out $30 bucks per PC for something I can get cheaper. Granted, the demo version allows 3 identities with 3 custom fields, but what about those directories that require more than 3 fields? Now I'm back to either C&Ping from notepad or I have to type the info manually. If I'm faced with choosing: 3 custom fields, paying $30 per PC, using FormFiller and two tabs, or paying $15, I'll pay the $15. By the way, I discovered a small problem with Directory Expert. It does not recognize national TLDs. I have a.us and a .dj (Djibouti man!) site, and it tells me that the domains are invalid. I'm also having problems getting the damned software running on this PC. looks like I may have just stuck my foot in my mouth.
Um, most directories ask for the following info: 1. Name 2. Email 3. Anchor 4. URL 5. Description The first two are part of the in-built fields and 3,4,5 can be set as customised fields. So, even if you encounter a directory that asks for something else, like keywords for example you can push a button on Roboform that fills out all these and then you can copy/paste the keywords! It's still easier than copying/pasting the whole lot or clicking everything. I haven't used that Firefox form-filler that was mentioned earlier, but you could always install both too! Use Roboform to fill out everything else and for the odd directory that requires keywords, click on the Firefox form filler button. Two clicks plus another one on Submit! (2-3 clicks per submission)
Now THAT'S a good idea! Does anyone know of any plugins for firefox that would create a split browser that can load one page in a left window and another page in the right window? I'd like to see a nice submission list (like vilesilencers) in a small left window and the directory I'm currently submitting to in the right. This would mean no flipping between tabs or windows to go from your submission list to the directory. You might almost be able to do this with one page that has two iFrames, but I;m not sure how you would intercept the click in one frame and direct it to the other frame. I should spend some time at w3 today...
how about the security image that always display before submitting your link, is this always have to be manually typed in.?
Yep. Until someone successfully builds a robot that can recognize text as well as a human (and those things screw me up half the time...phpld had a crappy image verification for a while!)
Yes, for a while ..... You don't know what the code is in advance so you can't save it anywhere for any toolbar to fill in. So, for now you have to manually type it in.
