How to determine backlinks?

    I remember that in a thread somebody told the owner of a site how many backlinks his site has, sorted by page rank. From that information he estimated using another site what page rank the site will have at the next update.

    I'd appreciate it if someone could tell me how to find out that, if there's a site that reports this it would be great.

    I remember using a tool that actually searched for as many of your backlinks as possible and posted them for you (it was a huge list that took forever to load). I'll try finding it again for you, I'm sure I found it somewhere on these forums.

    I believe I read that same post. I spend about about an hour learning the information from the post and finding a source for the Google XML with current Page Rank. The source is http://www.searchengineengine.com. Input up to 10 urls and click on URL to see Google XML. As I unstood the post, if your site is listed in the Google XML you can readily see your current page rank. I did this for one of the sites in you signature: http://www.helpedia.com. See below:

    <U>http://www.helpedia.com/</U>
    <UE>http://www.helpedia.com/</UE>
    <T>Helpedia - your source for quality tutorials and guides</T>
    <RK>4</RK>
    <S>Helpedia is the quality source of tutorials and guides for your computing needs.</S>

    </R>

    <UE>http://www.helpedia.com/forum/index.php</UE>
    <T>Helpedia.com Forum - Index</T>

    If the information we researched is correct, it appears that the main page of this site has a current page rank of 4 and the forum a current page rank of 3. My tool bar currently shows this site as a PR0. If you find this information helpful, please give me some green for the post.

    It's great information, thanks. I always rate helpfull answers :)

    Right now some servers says my site has PR0, some say it's PR1 but maybe it will improve.

    I've just recently started to add my site to directories, created a rss feed, submitted the rss feed to site, used mod_rewrite on pages. I didn't have to properly treat the site and to be honest I didn't know about all this seo stuff. Hopefully, the site will turn into something great.

    Thanks again
