Hey, A quick question about mobile traffic... Is there a way to detect it from Google Analytics? I wonder how much of my traffic comes from mobile devices. Thanks
I would assume you site has www.m.yoursite.com for mobile, can you not add tracking code to that site /m/index.html , as its own account or sub account? One would assume people using .m. would be mobile traffic? cheers
Hi, you can track mobile traffic with google analytics. While checking traffic, select Traffic from Iphone from Advance Segment, through that you can track traffic which are coming from iphone. if you want to track mobile traffic from other devices then you'll have to create advance segment. find more information. tracking of mobile traffic. I hope this would help you.
Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question but I'm asking it anyway... If you have a .mobi domain and a site version made specifically for mobile web, would Analytic's code work just like it does on other domains? I'm curious because code for AdSense is different on the mobile sites than it is on regular. Tx.
for the mobile stats, we use a handset detection web service which we plug in to a lot of our clients' sites. There are a few out there including handsetdetection.com and a selection of open source alternatives.
just look at your browser statistics in analytics. It will say if they are coming to your site from PalmOS...or Playstation 3...or whatever.
