Interesting topic! For me when the homepage has high PR i then check a few categories page, usualy the first ones. PR should spread internally across the site but if these pages are unranked then there is a chance the PR is fake. I know its not 100% accurate to look at the PR toolbar but its less time consuming when browsing through many directories. If inner pages have PR then its often a good place for a link.
That's a good one. Another way to do this can be to install seoquake and doing a site:domainname.com query to get PR for internal categories (the best ones should be listed first I believe) -- Jeet
If i am reading that right your saying this also applies to accepting submissions and if so i can only agree 100%, for me bieng newish to this ( web ) game and so many slim shady's, i expect to have few slip by me while learning but i can promise should those become exposed they will be de listed quicker than they went in.
