Hello. I need a logo for my website and I've never made one on myself. What software I should use and where I can find good stuff for my logo? Anyone kind enough to provide me useful information?

Honestly, pay a professional....There are tonnes of people who can do it cheap! odesk is good if you know what you want.

But if you really want to do it yourself, use photoshop or illustrator (both adobe). I prefer photoshop because i have more experience using it. But for advanced vector drawings illustrator is better. Some other professionals I know use Corel Draw. Inkscape is a free vector drawing programme. I have never used it but I know designers who do and say it's sufficient.

I have a designer who does my graphics work if you want professional assistance.

I would recommend using Adobe Illustrator mainly because your final design will be a vector graphic which is important for a logo. You could also try an online vector graphic program called Raven.

Inspiration: Head over to your local bookstore and read some logo design books. I recommend a book called "Logo Design Workbook" by Sean Adams and Noreen Morioka.

yes you will want a vector image (meaning it can be any size without being blurry) and to be honest if it's possible i would suggest paying someone, even for $5-$10, it's probably not worth the trouble doing it yourself and it'll most likely look better if someone else does it for you. if you're interested i will do it for you, you can see some of my work at visualdynamite.tumblr.com let me know,

    good luck,
    VD

Pay a professional or you can learn and try it by yourself with Adobe Illustrator which supports vector format or Adobe Photoshop if you want to use that logo just once for your website.

I'll lose more time learning to make a logo and your final product will be worse than just hiring somebody to do that for you. Time = Money

I suggest you to design it in Photoshop, as you said you have it, and surely good at using it. If not, you can hire somebody to do it for you, check the Buy/Sell/Trade section of this forum for that.

HI thr.. Logo is a brand of your business...So 1) make a concept 2) search for material and try to refer different site for getting idea. 3) Use a Tool like Photoshop, Illustrator, Corel for creating logo.

You can also use a software like AAA logo.. as @anny270 suggest...all the best.. :)

The value of your future brand should be a factor of how much effort or money you want to invest in your logo. If you're planning on becoming a brand then you'll want to take the time to develop your logo properly from research to final product. This is where a professional will come in to play. Once you've gotten your logo and budget allows-- get it trademarked.

If you're developing a logo for one of many sites that you may own or it's for a template site or if its for an adsense site then don't invest a lot of time or effort into it.

Adobe Photoshop is good if you're only planning on doing it for the web. Some simply designed Photoshop logos can be converted to vector later with ease, but the more complicated the logo the more difficult it'll be and will probably have to be completely redone later in Illustrator if you find yourself wanting to do printing, signage or promotional products like pens and silkscreen t-shirts. I recommend always that if you're developing a brand to go the Illustrator route because it's easier to downgrade than to upgrade. Cheers!
