How can I delete a tag cloud from my category pages? I go into my admin and to widgets, and drag the "Tag Cloud" bar down to bottom ara designated to "remove" the widget but when I go back to my pages, all the tags are still there. I use version 4.5.3 so wonder why this is not working....any insights would be appreciated. Thank you. PS: click my signature below (Cartoon Pictures) see the tag cloud on my category pages by clicking the 3 bars on upper left and in drop-down list, click Cartoon Catalog+ which shows list of about 65 category pages....tags are on right lower side of each page, highlighted in green

Try just deleting the widget from the sidebar instead of making it inactive.

Open the tag cloud by clicking on the widget and click Delete.

when clicking on widget to open it, a dropdown appears: Footer column1, Footer column 2 and Footer column 3 with the Footer Column 1 highlighted in blue with a check mark. That is all that's viewable and nothing that says delete

It doesn't sound like you're opening the widget.

It doesn't even look like the widget is active.

widget is definitely active since all my category pages have the tag cloud (in highlighted green tags) on lower right side of pages you can access from my Cartoon Pictiures signature below. Just go to upper left 3-bars and click drop-down list to Cartoon Catalog+ and those pages all have the cloud on each one.I'm a bit perplexed at this point, since I have dragged it to bottom of list in that designated spot, but the tags are still visible. Wordpress is definitely not the simplest editor to use....very frustrating to say the least

I'm an idiot I just thought of something...

Go to Plugins > Installed Plugins > click on the checkbox to select the tag cloud plugin and Deactivate or Delete it.

no you're not an idiot because I don't have a tag cloud plugin....in fact, I have only 5 active plugins currently running and see screenshot I am attaching. The Google Tag Mgr plugin is in fact de-activated. The mystery remains

Then I have no idea. It sounds like it's part of the theme you're using.

Ask for support on the wordpress forum. If it's part of the theme, you may be able to edit the theme files to remove the tag cloud.

what wordpress forum is best? Any link you can provide? I also wonder if I can use any custom CSS in the stylesheet in which I could omit it that way? The site has a customized theme btw so I wouldn't want to edit anything in there for fear of "breaking" the site - thanks
