I wanted to remove certain info from my old thread. Is it possible?

    No. It is not possible.

You can edit your post for up to 24 hours, after it was made.

If you have a very strong and valid reason to edit any post, you may use the [IMG] button to report the post.

The moderators have the last word in such matters.

Yes Sachin you are right. And to close a thread, just report it asking Mods to close it and it will be done.

If you're the original poster. If you're not though you must have a valid reason like, "The OP said no more offers but people are still posting." and stuff like that.
You can't just request for any ol' thread to be modified though.

Best way to do it is to ask the mods, by hitting the report button, to close the thread. You are than free to open a new thread with the updated information in it. You have 8 hours to edit any post than anything else can only be changed by a mod.

As far as I know, it has always been 8 hours.

    EDIT:
I remember Shawn stating that edit time is 8 hours. But in the FAQ it says 24 hours. I am not sure but as far as I remember it was 8 hours.

You have made we doubt what I have always believed to be a fact. I would start a test on this but mods can always edit a post so I have no way to test this. If someone runs a test, please alert me as to your findings.
