How to decrypt an encrypted HDD.

    Hi,

    Just want to ask some questions, how can i decrypt an encrypted files from my HDD.
    my office put some encrypting file on all PC's to avoid file transfer from their computer to other external disk. i have transferred some files from my HDD, it can be read at the office but when i tried to put it on my PC. all files are unreadable, files are undetected. even the HDD cant be read. whenever i check my HDD 0bytes free and 0bytes used, but when i check it on the office the files is still there. can someone help me?:confused::confused:

    This sounds more like disk encryption/protection, not file encryption... and it is performing as expected by keeping you out unless it has proper authentication to boot up or make the data available.

    I would ask the IT manager at your office or whomever configured it for you to instruct you on how to access the data at home, assuming you have the permissions to do so, they would should you how?

    Unfortunately, you can't do that. This is 128bit or 256bit hard disk encryption. If you could do it then all science of security should have broken down.
