Recently a link to one of my cool websites was placed on a link dump over at popular humour portal (which sounds like lip-balm). I kid you not, i went from 200 impressions with a really hight CTR to 48,000 impressions with a super-duper, i cant even mention how low CTR, in one day! friggin insane!!!
Try repositioning your adverts then, "lip-balm" can also send traffic from accross the whole world which Google will not pay for, to my knowledge they only pay for traffic from certain countries. Maybe try and make your ads stand out a bit better?
I got 150K impressions from a site that sounds like dashslot and although earning were amazing the CTR was minscule. You'll find that with pretty much any traffic from a link dump site.
Hmm, I've heard about the place that sounds like dashslot, but could someone pm me what place sounds like lip balm?
haha I also used the "dashSot" haha, but my impressions dont get higher than a few thousand, but thats on a busy day, although i have heard of the one with lip-balm, would you, tonyrocks, be so kind as to also PM me with the actual name of it? forever indebted to you!
could someone pm me with an explanation of what these things are? thanks i would really appreciate it...
You should notify Google that your sudden increase in pageviews comes from a legitimate source. I personally wouldn't take the chance and risk them thinking that you're artificially inflating pageviews or something to that effect.
Hallo Icheb, Es ist nicht illegial...aber legit. I received 24,000 uniques. I don't think they would have a problemo. I don't have time for sending all the PMs...but if you go to the Tonyrocks dot come website/web development and gallery, it is the 6th gallery item listed on the pages.
If the traffic is natural then it is no problem. The main problem comes when the traffic is artificially generated via incentives such as paid to click, paid to surf, autosurf and suchlike.
I have seen this many a time with my sites when they get on digg, collagehumor, b3ta or get indexed in stumbledupon, it is always the same story... big traffic, low clicks.. this is cos the people who use these sites are just following a link, looking, then going back to the original site to click on the next link. The best sort of traffic is that from search engines / emails and other non-link-dump sites. Not all doom and gloom tho, if you are subscription based you can pick up a few new subscribers and I find after a few hours on something like digg that the clicks from blogs and the such go up for a good week or 2 as people who dugg you blog about your site or link to you in emails etc..
