In fact I did not start tweaking without help because I have read somewhere that the sum of content area pixels and sidebar pixels should remain same...i.e. if one number is reduced, the other value should be increased with equal amount otherwise the looks of the site will go astray.I am unsure what does it mean exactly. Here is the blog that's being talked about.
