there a vb rewrite mod that works nicely as well. but the zoints seo is a complete mod that will help you control your forums keywords and descriptions.

Ya, they have the "Tags" feature which is going to be enabled in the new version of vBulletin.

Does anybody know if you can have seo friendly URL's without a htaccess file, as I use windows hosting which does not support .htaccess files.

    Thanks,
    Gaj

Now I've bought a VBulletin license and have had a good play around with it. It seems that to really get it seo'd you do have to buy the VBseo tool.

    http://www.vbseo.com/f55/url-rewriting-windows-server-without-htaccess-support-20379/#post125046

It seems like you do need .htaccess to run it though or you need ISAPI filters. Does anybody know a way round this? or even if you can change vbulletin to use the post id and the post title? This would be a great plug-in if its not out there?

URL rewriting would require mod rewrite or ISAPI rewrite to be enabled on the server, unless the forum software itself is generating those urls.
