How to create google sitemap

Hello friends,
I want to create google sitemap for my site,but i am really confused how to make it,I am doing it from https://www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps/docs/en/faq.html#what

I downloaded the site map generator.but dont know what to do next
and not getting it in proper way like how to make an cofigure file.
anyone help me out in this.

just enter your sitemap.html file and then it will automatically create a sitemap.xml file for you and upload it to your server..

after that, submit the xml file to google sitemap, verify the file and then wait for a couple of days for your pages to get indexed.

I am facing some problem in varification for one of my site, for other it is working fine. Some times it shows "Busy, try after some time", and sometime it shows "404 not found". I am trying to varify it.

What could be the problem? One thing site is bulky and have number of dynamic urls.

I use GSiteCrawler from http://johannesmueller.com/gs/ it's a nice free app even if its crawler it's a bit slow, but does his job hope it will be useful to you too

Tell me one thing that google sitemap is use only for indexing your site or it works for something else too?

 

As far as I know there's no documented use for google sitemaps, but for sure it helps googlebot to better understand your site thus crawling better

 

You'll also get information about your website when you create a Google Sitemaps account and verify your website (e.g. typical keywords and for what the visitors are comming, ...) - you don't have to create and submit a Google Sitemaps file for this.
You'll also see problematic pages (that are not found by Google, that had timeout problems, ...) which might help to improve the "crawlability" of your website.

I think
http://www.auditmypc.com/free-sitemap-generator.asp#sitemap-generator-updates
is better. you can filter out pages, or range of pages. it built the sitemap then you export it, to a local folder. finally you submit it into google sitemap

 

Yep, i used the one at auditmypc too and i was done in 2 min.
Submitted it to google sitemaps yesterday and the googlebot came today to crawl my new site for the first time!

 

1. You goto xttp://xml-sitmap.com/ , this site gen 500 sitemaps
2. Use Xenu Program. for generate sitemap

then you save sitmap.xml and urllist.txt, upload them on your host and submit sitemap google

 

the best solution is find a sitemap plugin or module for your cms.

which cms are you using?

 

xttp://xml-sitmap.com/ is easy to use but this site can gen only 500 sitemaps
so that it 's depend on the size of your site. By the way 500 sitemaps is ok.
Then after youe submit google bot will crawl your site and increase youe index.

 

500 would only be good if you plan for your site to stay small, you need something that has no limit to get results every time.
