Hi, Last month I launched a sales blog or an Amazon Affiliate blog rather to sell technology related stuff...I am getting around 50 visitors a day - which by no means is a number to brag about. Anyhow, i have heard and read elsewhere that creating an email list would be good for my business. So, being a complete newbie in the real of email marketing, I would like to ask how to proceed with that. I have added a simple scroll triggered plugin to catch subscribers. It pops in when the reader reaches the bottom of the page. I am hoping that is the right thing to do. I have done some research on aweber and what not, but I fail to see how it can help my blog at all. So I would like to ask all you marketing gurus here to point me toward the right direction with regard to capturing the emails of people visiting my sales blog. Any advice on improving the traffic number from 50/day to 200/day would also be well appreciated. With regard to traffic, I am getting amazon clickouts, but no sale. Past month I had 200 clickouts and only one sale. I am guessing that is normal for a primitive blog as mine. I will now wait patiently to hear from a kind soul. Thank You!
You need an autoresponder in place with preprogrammed email sequence to keep up with your viewers. Aweber is very good but if you are on a budget check our "pure leverage" from GVO. It's good value for money and has same functions as any other AR.
Most difficult part is to know how to write great copy. How to sell them. This is an art. How to get traffic is "easy" but how to effectively sell them. Don't chase volume of mailing list. Of course it's important but if you can't sell them it doesn't matter if you have 1.000.000 subscribers.
You're right mate. Anyway how are you getting your traffic at the moment? If you're tight financially, I don't advise you to go for an autoresponder. You could just place a form on your website to capture emails, like a "Join our mailing list to get exclusive offers".
Hi Sayeen, I'm not entirely clear about your details so see if the below ideas work for you: 1. Your Website visuals, calls to actions may not be appealing to visitors or grab their attention. Do you have an issue in this area? 2. Have you considered holding an event by inviting people to a presentation you would give? If it is interesting enough, whether you use GoToMeeting or otherwise, when people register for the event you will get their email addresses. 3. Have you considered using LinkedIn to connect with more people? As you connect with people in LinkedIn you can export your connections with the email addresses. Hope this helps.
If you don“t have your own product you can finde a plr ebook about your niche. Select that ebook (a lot of them come with their salespages include) and just add it to your autoresponder. I recommend you aweber. For free ebooks you can go to "Resell rights weekly" Is a lifetime free membership. Hope this will help you. Good luck!!!!
Add your targeted people in LinkedIn and get their email id . by this way you can get a targeted email list
Thanks for all the replies. So I take it that Webinar is the way to go, but unfortunately that prospect is a bit too advanced for me at the moment. To shed some light on the traffic, I receive around 50-60 visitors every day. 79% of which are unique visitors and the rest are returning. Most of my traffic comes from Google and from US (my target audience). The site has a bounce rate of 75%! As for the call to action buttons, I believe I have taken good care of that. Perhaps my content is substandard or maybe the site does not have a good incentive for people to continue on. I would appreciate a quick review though... here is the link to my site asuslaptopsreview[dot]com. If you scroll to the bottom of main page you will notice that I have added a pop up to capture emails. Would you say that is sufficient? My target is to capture at least 8-10% of the visitors. LinkedIn sounds promising, I will look into that further. Again, thank you all for your time and help.
I'm not sure if my adblock is preventing the pop-up from coming up. Best to add it to the side of the page. I love the simplicity of the website by the way. You have a good domain name.
Thanks, I fixed the pop-up and placed it on the side. Thanks for the compliments I am glad you liked it.
Hi Sayeen, I just took a look at your website. I didn't see the pop-up. Not sure why. Anyway, one thing that you can do to get people to subscribe to your list is to give away a free report detailing what criteria you should take into consideration when looking for a new laptop. Or you can create a laptop buyers guide and give that away in exchange for a persons email address as well. People who are serious about buying a new laptop would probably be interested in reading something like that and would give your site more credibility. Fred
Fred, that is a GREAT idea. I can most certainly look into that. The question is how do I set this system of redirecting the subscribers to a downlink? There must be paid services online. Would you please recommend your preferred ones?
Here is how you set it up. You are going to need an autoresonder and a thank you page on your site. Once someone signs up to your list via your autoresponder, you can redirect them to the thank you page where they can download your free report. If you don't want to create a thank you page, then you can just have your autoresponder send them the link to your free report so that they can download it. There are many autoresponders out there to choose from such as Aweber, GetResponse, etc. I actually wrote a report that lists the top 10 autoresponders. Some of them are free and some of them are paid. I really can't tell you which one to go with because that is going to depend on your business needs and I'm not familiar with your business. I will however give you a copy of my report. You can read it and make the decision that you think is best. I'll pm you the link to the report.
What email application are you using? If you have gmail consider this http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Mailing-List-in-Gmail.
Thank you all for the amazing tips and ideas...i will most certainly take every bit of them into consideration...really appreciate it
