How to create categories in BlogSpot?

Discussion in 'WordPress' started by obenix, Sep 28, 2005.

I've created a new blog at blogspot.com and I would like to archive my posts according to categories instead of their current settings to archive by month.

e.g. My blog is on burgers and I would like to create categories such as:
    Beef Burgers
    Chicken Burgers
    Diet Burgers  :D
    Burger Recipes

Is this possible? Have anyone done this before?

There is no direct way to do this. Common blogger complaint.

You can change the archive time interval if that is of any help.

Thats funny you ask this. I'd like to do the same as well. I was going to start new blogs for each topic but that's just a PITA. I'd much rather post about all the topics on one blog and have them categorized. I think I may try and use my own blog engine on my site instead and stop using blogger so I can have more control over how my blog is organized and presented. You'd think Google would add this simple feature.

Yeah. I think I'm either going to find one to use or just develop my own.

I'm using WordPress and I know that MovableType has that feature too...

    But does blogspot have it?

I've made widgets on some of my blogs, categorizing the various posts, but it's a very tiresome process! usually I make three or four posts and then edit the widget manually.

Much easier to do what Wiehanne says; just label each post with "diet burger" or "chicken burger" etc and then display the labels in a widget on your blog.

    hi...
the following can be done :
    a) Labels ...everyone often does this..
    b) Create no of posts such that it must be equivalent to no of categories.
    c) In the major page, just write the heading of your category and then make hyperlinks to respective categories..

    I follow the latter one...
