Hey, I'm wondering how I can create a box at my website where
visitors can enter their email so I can send a weekly´news message to them.

I need something that is easy to use and does not contain ads etc.
It also needs to be Free.

Anyone know how to code this or a free to use program that does this?

I'm just polishing a free WordPress plugin to do just that - but there are plenty of options for WordPress, not just mine.

Essentially you just need to construct the form and have it submit to a PHP script which stores the info in a simple MySQL table. Any tutorial on forms should pretty much cover it.

You need a feedburner account as well, it's a free service brought to you by Google.

Ye, but I don't want my users to be confirmed by feedburner.
I want them to simply fill in their email to get news.
When I tested feedburner, they had to leave my site and confirm with feedburner etc.

    Just a "Newsletter" form?

Did you check hotscripts.com yet? There are plenty of php scripts for "Newsletter" stuff.
And this can be "powered" with some jQuery AJAX :D

Feedburner, for sure. Extremely easy to start an account, grab your code from them, and slap it on your site. And voila, you have a subscription box that everyone is familiar with and trust.

Feedburner has always provided really solid stats and other useful information about who's subscribing and how the found you.

They're now owned by Google. I'm not sure what benefit we've seen under the fairly recent ownership, but I guess that should tell you they have it going on. Google wouldn't have bought them otherwise. :)
