How To Create A Site w/out a Control Panel

I'm thinking about getting a server from cari.net . I want the server w/out a control panel since I'm only going to be putting up proxies. How do I create a site on the server w/out a control panel, though? I've used Ensim, Plesk, and Cpanel before and even Webmin but I've never used a server w/out a control panel. Thanks!

 

if you never used it then you cannot do it without an experienced system administrator , i think its caro.net ? if so they provide managed service , ask them if they will manage without any control panel , if they dont buy a server management package , so they set you up .

 

If you have never done it before I agree with random, you should have someone do it for you althought it is a simple matter of the httpd conf file and setting up vhosts.

 

Actually its not a simple matter of setting up httpd conf file , you have to setup dns records , email accounts , statics software , mysql databases setup , spam assassin setup if required , apache setup , php compilation , openssl compilation if required , if these arent a problem for you then ..

 

Yes that is true. I took it for granted that those things where set up already. I apologize for misleading. LAMP systems are still not that hard to set up depending on which distro of linux you have. I do not use email accounts on my server that is why I did not even think of that. My bad.
