How to create a site map and make a robots.txt file?

    Hi guys,

    I added my site to google webmasters tools and it says I need to submit a sitemap and my robots.txt file wasn't found.

    Please could someone run me through how to make and submit a sitemap, also how I make a robots.text file.

    You can generate robots.txt file in Google Webmasters Tools itself.

    Create a sitemap online - xml-sitemaps.com is the place most people use it for it, and there's not really any reason to use anywhere else - upload it, then submit the location of the map in Google webmaster tools.
    Google Webmaster Tools also has instructions and advice on creating a robots.txt file -http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=40360

    Is this ok for my robots.txt file

    I have genereated my sitemap do I just upload them both into my root directory of my site?
