I see a lot of questions regarding how to optimize on-page a websites and also a lot of people which answer with really bad answers, so I hope this topic will help a lot of people:

    Title
The title must be always unique. If the original story sounds something like that: "Terrible fight between cat and dog", you must write it something like: “Amazing wrestling match between a cat and a dog”.
The title must NOT be longer than 7-8 words. When I say words I am not referring to stop words (the, if, when, if after, beside).
The keywords must be used at the beginning of the title. Example: if the post is about a Koala bear that felt in the elevator pit, the title must start something like that "Koala bear felt..."
Never use the same title, if your site needs some posts like "Quote of the day" don't set the title like this "Quote of the day 2", set the title like this: "Quote of the day: 2nd July 2013".

In the description you must describe what is the blog post about. You must use in the description all the words from the title (without stop words)
Example: The title is: Angry man cries because his wife left him. The description should look like this: A very angry man sits down on a chair very sad and cries because his dear wife left him for some mistakes that he done in the past”.
As you can see n the description are used the main title words: angry, man, cries, wife and left. The description must have at least 120 characters and maximum 160 characters.

    Picture

    - The picture must be unique. "unique" means: a unique file name and a unique alt tag.
    - The title tag can be the same with the alt tag, but if you have time is better also the picture title to be unique.
    - The picture must have a name which describes the picture (exactly what you see in the picture) like the following example: red-car-falling-down-the-cliff.jpg (if you can see in the picture a red car which is rolling falling down the cliff).
    - If you have copied the picture from another site and its original name was “red-car-is-falling-down-the-cliff” you will re-write the picture name something like that: “nice-red-car-is-rolling-down-a-high-cliff
    - Don't use images names like: img00005 or crsskjsjhd005.
    - The file name must have maximum 5-6 words.
    - You must use alt tags at each picture you add in a blog post.
    - You must use a unique alt tag which explains the picture like: “Baby in blue T-shirt crying
    - The alt tag must have maximum 7 words

    Video (embed)

If you use embeds from youtube, metacafe etc. you need to do the next thing to boost your traffic:

    - dowload the video from youtube
    - create a youtube page created just for your website
    - add the video to your youtube channel and optimize it: new title , new keywords,
    - take the video embed from the video which was added to your youtube page and add it to your post.
    - In this way you will bost your youtube channel traffic with the help of your website and website traffic with the help of your youtube channel (your embed will make views, your webpage will make views and in the same time your channel will receive views)
Attention!: If you use the old embed type your video will not be visible on the mobile devices ( phones, ipads etc), but the old object type embed is more google friendly than the new embed code (iframe code)
    - If you want your videos to be visible also on mobile devices, use the new embed code (iframe type) but now you have to trigger google a little bit. Under the post you need to say a few words about the video and you must use in the text the words: movie, video, film. ( this way you are telling google that you have a video there)
Also you need video sitemap if you use the new embed code.

    Content

The content must be unique. Use your keywords in the content but don't do keyword stuffing. In a 400-500 words blog post you need to use your desired keyword 3-4 times in natural way.
Also if your blog post supports commenting don't approve any comments with links in it or broken links.

The guide is good, but most times I try writing the title for PEOPLE and article with good on-page SEO for search engines.. Because if a title is NOT attractive, then with #1 ranking for a 10,000,000 searches per month, nobody COULD even read it... I just place a keyword if possible in Google, but something like your idea:

Amazing wrestling match between a cat and a dog

Looks more like a funny video where a cat fights a dog... But if I would like to write a serious article about how a cat should cope with a dog while fighting the title should be a little bit different and more like:

Good way a cat should react when attacked by a dog

This is a title for People (visitors). If I only change it a bit for Search Engines too, then the title could be:

How to keep your cat safe outdoors

This was my idea, but I LIKE your post! Useful for new webmasters that should understand the main idea! :)
