How to create a custom blog with Drupal

    Hello,

    Which is the simplest way to create a blog with custom design with Drupal.

    I want to know how to create a sidebar with block "Archive" and "Categories".

    And if somebody can do it in 7-8 hours I'll pay. I'll give the HTML version of the blog.

    Default settings of Drupal is like a blog.

    Its not default like wordpress, but you can easily do.
    Create Archive:
    http://drupal.org/project/archive
    Or just use view module.

    Create category:
    http://drupal.org/project/category

    Or you can manually create in Administrator >> Menu

    I'd go with regular old taxonomy for the categories, that Category module page linked above even admits that it can cause trouble and slow a site down so unless you really need it, taxonomy ftw.
