I'm living in the UK, so could anyone point me in the right direction if I wanted to copyright a whole website.

Also what documents would I receive and need to submit?

    Thanks in advance :D

    Hi,
If you are the author, then you get the copyright if you claim it.

Write a copyright notice at the end of your articles or in the footer at the bottom of your website. That is all you need to do.

The problem is that you can't stop anyone from taking your writing and republishing it, but if they do, you can send them (or their host) a Digital Millennium Copyright Act notice asking them to immediately cease and desist. If the website owner won't acknowledge your notice the hosting company usually will and the website will be taken down.

One of these at the bottom of your site, the year, and your website domain name and you are good:

Anyone know where I can find a ready worded warning for a person who is breaching my copyright?

Because this symbol means COPYRIGHT you should be aware that this is the COPYWRITING forum, nothing to do each other but legal advice

I researched only a few week ago.

Under the BERN convention treaty, anything written down is instantly copyrighted by the author. I was looking up copyright over concern about a terms of use in a forum i was joining.

For example, once i hit submit, this post is copyrighted automatically by me.
I do not need to put copyright at the bottom. (You can just as a warning to others). If you wanted to use this post elsewhere in this forum or anywhere else, you would have to quote me. You could claim what i have written word for word.

Same with a website. All websites are owned by the,well,..owners! LOL
A web designer can own the design and code, unless they transfer it to the owner. Licencing i think its called.

So yes,a (C) year name is the standard.

Also there is no longer a need to submit a copyright to any office..becuase the BERN treaty Act(or convention..just google BERN copyright look at the wiki)

patents and trademarks require submission and fees to the relevant office in the country your in.
