That is exactly what I was about to post.

There is a software that makes exe files form any flash, available at www.download.com

I have not the link at hand, but use the search option.

I find this one - Magic SwfAvi 3.1 very useful
    http://www.effectmatrix.com/swf2gif/index.htm
    - a very lite application but still offers a high-quality compression, in my humble opinion. [IMG]

One of the best ones I've used is camtasia:
    http://www.techsmith.com/camtasia.asp

Although its not free you get a trial which is long enough to use it for your purposes. Plus its relatively easy to use, works well, and exports to many different formats (including flash). You can use it to screen capture as a last resort, which would result in the potential of having video exported in any of its formats.

If you export directly from Flash to avi, you will have to import your file into something like Premier and add the sound track. Avi or Quicktime export doesn't export sound. At least not in the earlier versions of Flash. I am still using FlashMX.

    1. This post is way old.
    2. All school security/network management packages I have come accross block normal users (i.e. students and probably teachers) from running any none-designated .exe files. On a basic level, they can stop you running any not stored on the applications server (so on your own virtual drive or external disc/usb pen/hdd etc). It is really obvious that they wouldnt want you to be able to run exe's. Stupid comment.

Hey guys and gals, did you realize this thread is pretty old?

Even though I would suggest this freeware solution which allows you to convert files from almost any format to any other, including iPod, www.dvdvideosoft.com
