How to convert my PC to server ?

    Hello ..........

    How to convert my PC to server for share my Personal website ?:confused: because i don't want to take web space from any web host company . If any one has tutorials please help me .:(

    Note : I use windows XP .

    Ok, first you need to install IIS if it's not already in place. Then you can only have one web site on port 80 since a non server copy of XP will not support more than one website on a single port. Then you'll need to make sure your firewall will allow calls to port 80 to pass to IIS. Now you're ready to serve your site.

    It's obviously more complicated than that, but this will give you a very basic understanding of what you can expect.

    i dont know much about IIs but i highly recomend Apache. However if you have licenses for iis then go for it

    if you want something simple, I used Xitami a long time ago, I think it was free then and pretty easy to use. Dunno what it's current state is, and I'm on dialup at the moment and too impatient to go see. =)

    Don't.
    Web hosting is available for very little cost and there are also sites which have free hosting. Using your personal PC is a risky business if you don't know what you're doing. Apart from anything else, you may find your ISP doesn't allow it.

    I dunno how risky it is... but it's pretty likely it will be intolerably slow. Even if you are on cable because of upload caps. Keep that in mind too. But if it's just for test, or fun, meh.
