I'm trying to convert INR on xe.com but these commas are confusing me

A site is telling me something is selling for 1,00,000 INR...what does this convert to in USD?

(Those 2 zeros are confusing me instead of being three zeros)

    1 Indian rupee = 0.019818 U.S. dollars
    1,00,000 means the same as 100000 ;)

I'm looking at an indian site and the homes are listed as 59,00,000 INR and such but the 2 zeros instead of 3 are throwing me off when converting

the reason is that money (and other things) in India are counted as lac and crore and not millions and billions.

    1 million is 10 lac.

1 billion is 10000 lac is 100 crore.

    (100 lac is 1 crore).

so 59,00,000 is 59 lac is 5.9 million.

    Very simple calculation here:
Check the current rate of INR with USD.
