    I suggest you use a theme as your default.. Then you can change the stylesheet of that theme to match with your html design..

    If you already have the html of the template then you just have to do divide the html to parts. header.php, index.php, footer.php, sidebar.php (if any), single.php, page.php and do the looping for wordpress.

    If you'd like I can also be of some assistance.

    Check out the codex to see if there is a theme there you might like thats already designed for wordpress. If you don't see anything you like let me know and I will be glad to help.

    Wordpress Theme Viewer: hxxp://themes.wordpress.net

    Google "Wordpress Themes" for more options

    change hxxp to http

    It's really a tough and risky work, any way if you want to change HTML with WordPress firstly you need to install WordPress on your site and change the existing WordPress files with your HTML files carefully.

    codex.wordpress.org has everything you need

    basically you just need to replace your HTML content to WP tags

    <h1>Your title here</h1> --> <h1><?php the_title(); ?></h1>

    and some other stuff, lol

    On the top of the page there is a button called 'Export'. Then click on drop down list and select Change Template option and Then from there you have select wordpress option. Thus you can convert it.
