No you can't. You need Adobe Acrobat to convert word to PDF. Another alternative is to use Open Office. www.openoffice.org/
you can convert from word to pdf( and vice versa sometimes) using professional version of acrobat or by installing a post script printer. http://downloads.zdnet.com/search.aspx?kw=Adobe+PostScript+Printer+Driver+(sit) just select your OS and download
Google Apps can upload a Word Document and then you can do a "save as" and select PDF. You will need to sign in to Google though to use their software. PLUS! You can share documents and even make spreadsheets.
