    i suggest macromedia for this because it will be the most trustable convert.The other softwares are 3rd party so i will not trust too much about this rendering stuff to 3rd party.

    i know another good one prog its FlashConv!
    this helpful prog can convert all video formats transforms them into swf and flv!
    its not free but i use now demo its without timelimit ...i found it comfy!
    i advice you to try!

    Personally I prefer Video to Flash Converter to other tools cause It's the best one(easy 2 use, nice interface, really fast)

    You can download this video player software -- which coverts AVI to FLV automatically. You need to register this software if you need to use one of its video player skins, but the FLV conversion part is free.

    The best option is to use Macromedia's Flash application, But that's expensive for around $400. I personally use Flash Video Encoder for all my video conversion. It costs about $35 but it's completely worth it. It will convert about any format to flash swf and flash video flv. I used it to convert all my .avi to .flv for my homepage, if you want a try to.
