Are there any free programs that do this? If not, would someone be so kind as to convert a small (1 MB) .avi video to Flash for me?

the most important thing is that you can embed flash to the web easily, cause it's small. for conversion from video files to flash i use Video to Flash Converter PRO by geovid.com, but recently i've found another one program- VisiFly.com, that's much easier to manage. it's a step-by-step converter, and the price is only 39.95.

Free converter?! Are you kidding me? So if they exist so what they can? I think not much... As usual only trial versions are free. I think it's right coz people should know what they are buying all in all ;)

Well anyway there are a lot of softwares now... Some of them was called here already. ;)

All I can add to list it's "video to flash converter" at geovid. In my opinion it's good and easy tool. :)

Yeah I know camstudio. I tried to work with it. But tell the truth I didn't like it. I had strange problem with sound and all. Besides prog's interface is too difficult in my opinion. Sorry but there is all I can to say...

Well if telling about free things I saw nice service (not software) -vidflash. I found link on some forum... but it doesn't matter. Well vidflash is on-line service where you can convert many file formats to others. Very useful especially if you aren't home.. It doesn't need to load anything or pay. It's for free.

And finally it's useful for users who has not only Windows but Mac or Linux... Check this out. Good luck to all! ;)

If you still need it I want to advise you the program I use - Video To Flash Console. It's an expensive tool, but has a trial version.

I would suggest an application named "Total Video Convertor". It allows video format conversions in a wide variety. For the download link you can search it by the aforesaid name on any search engine. Its a shareware but it allows video conversion upto 5 minutes to unregistered users. :) hope this helps!

There are alot of free programs that rival what big software compaines put out, you'd be surprised! The Microsoft Antivirus program is nothing more than the free spybot program for example. Of course Spybot came first and Microsoft copied it. My advice would be to play with your keywords and go back a few pages in your searches. My motto is everything is free online. I'm not talking about warez either. If there is a software on the market you better believe some young developer has created a similar (and often times better) free product. :)
