I've heard that it's possible to target wich adsense ads appear in between your content. Can anyone tell me how this is done ? Does it just have to do with the content of the site ? Or can you go a step further and make it reasonably precies ? Thnks, Gdev
Yes you can add 200 sites to your filter list, adsblacklist.com is a saite that will give you a list but remember you cant block them all I have noticed that it can help but not in a big way
And also can change a little your content to make some ads to appear. Even a link to a hosting company could bring you some hosting ads.
So if I understand this right then the type of ads wich appear depend on the content... are there any rules about that too ? Close to content or far from content ? Gdev
Not enirely correct. Most of the sites listed in adsblacklist are webmaster related. That all depends on the content of your site and the number of ad units you have. None of those listed websites appear in any of my travel sites since I only use one ad unit per page giving lesser chance for low paying ads to appear on my site. That all depends on the content of your site. If your contents are highly target, you should get ads related to your site. As I have mentioned before use less ad units per page. In that way the highest paying ads will only appear. If you are still unhappy about the ads being served you have the option to block that particluar ads from appearing in your site. Competitive ad filter is located under your AdSense Setup.
You can use "section targeting" if you want to emphasize or de-emphasize certain sections of your page. Go here for details: http://adsense.blogspot.com/2006/01/stay-on-target.html
