No, I don't. I just read a lot of blogs and forums. If you really want to talk to Matt, go to a conference.
I checked WMW's directory forum the other day to see if there was a thread on this topic and there was only one thread with 3 replies. There isn't much point in posting anything there on this topic when you can't mention names or post urls.
I would think this 100 links rule would apply for external links only. If it applies to both internal and external links then thousands of sites have gone against that rule including most probably Google. For example, I just went to Google news and that has well over 100 clickable links contained within it. http://news.google.co.uk/nwshp?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en&tab=wn&q= So I guess it would just be external links or maybe even 100 internal links and then another 100 external links giving 200 links in total that you are allowed to have.
I am sorry but you are so funny: Matt Cutts appears on DigitalPoint forum, and everyone tries to have his own profit from it. Matt Cutts says something about directories and PR (things that they ONLY know at Mountain View) and immediately all the forum members would know the answer; it is just the same as what will be the weather tomorrow and for the next five days, knowing that weather it's a science containing many factors that determine the weather in the next days: but immediately there are a loy saying: "for me it will be 42°C....and another one:"Oh no tomorrow we'll have rain"...and another one: "Tomorrow sun and 33°C, you can trust in me (yes, that's God with the clothes of a DP forum member).... But in reality, only Matt Cutts knows how things work really, and he won't answer you anymore if you go on stressing him like you are doing.... This is a humble opinion Panoramix the Druid
at the beginning, i have no idea, but now i got methods and more clear than before. thanks for these links.
If you are talking about my post, then yes you are right in that I am not sure, but I only gave what I think it may mean with the 100 links thing and gave my findings. As you said, only Matt Cutts knows and the chance of getting an answer like that from him or others at Google is very unlikely so it's better to work things out yourself and do some research to what you think it may mean rather than just do no research and then go ahead with something and then get a site ban.
Hey, you wanna contact Matt? I just had a really wacky idea! Who remembers pens, paper and postage stamps? Yeah, good old fashioned snail mail letter - groovy Post to: Matt Cutts, Googleplex, US of A
Hi Matt, Quick question, I have a website (I won't mention the url or name other than its a public service) that does very well within Google, however when I make a change to a single page and maybe add a keyword that was used on another page within the same site, the other page drops almost instantly from the Googles results? I even watched, within 20 minutes after making a change, the page vanish from Google results, then changed it back, and watched it reappear in the Google results within 5 minutes? My question is, if you have a website that has the exact same nav bars (right & left) for all pages and the content is in the center and different from all other pages, but the content only makes up for 10% of the page while the nav bars take up 90%, could this be why I am seeing the changes at Google? If yes, then would labeling the content like this help (<!-- start content -->), And of course (<!-- end content -->)? Best Regards, Larry
Question to Matt Cutts (i tried to ask on blog in comments but nothing...) Could you give some comments for recently changing in google serps? Many members ask the same on this forum and other webmaster forums.
If you have a question for Matt Cutts, I suggest you go to his blog. I highly doubt that he's checking DP or this thread at all regularly. Allow me to be the first to point out that I'm wrong. Maybe not daily but his profile shows his laast DP activity as September 10, 2007, so it's more regular than I would have thought.
Let's just concentrate on the positive aspect. Not all Directories are taboo -it comes down to relevance - my buzz word - Hi Gypsey -long time no see -nice to see you again.
Well Hullo David..... I haven't been out and about in the boards/blog much the last few months... back again ( must be the winter thing). Nice to cya .... keep in touch M8
John269, I was just sayin' that I could try to learn a maximum of things by my own (only doing mistakes you can find the right way to do it, as far as you recognize your errors and learn by your own how to fix it), and personally I would have the pleasure to speak face to face with him but I guess that I would never submit my site about Rome to Matt Cutts personally, he has much bigger problems to follow, even when he is on Digital Point ......
