if Google crawler finds any errors then Google webmaster site shows them on your Dash Board. you can easily fix them through the help contents available there. type "site:your site url" on Google Search Engine box to check the results available. eg. site:digitalpoint.com --> About 2,720,000 results (0.22 seconds)
Try site:domain.com and it should be the first result. If it's on page one but it's not the first result there is some kind of mild penalty on your website. Is it's not on page one it's either not indexed yet (if it's a new website) or there is some major penalty on the domain. To index it faster try promoting it on google+ and twitter it usually works for me.
To confirm your site in google search engine all you have to do is submit ur website url in google and other search engines like yahoo,bing,baidu and more.. To rank your website on google first page generate the organic traffic via forum posting,directory submision,blog commenting,socail bookmark sharing site.. forum posting and directory submission is most imp as it helps in incresing traffic and creating link.. do blog commenting on sites similar to your website niche..do sharing on top ten socail bookmarking sites like happy blogging...hope it helps you...
