I am planning to buy an extablished site / sites with adsense revenue. However I would like to find a way to confirm the adsense revenue before I buy the site. The typical sceenshot does not convince me at all, since anybody with minimun skills with photoshop or any other similar programs can put there whatever they want. What other ways are there to confirm the adsense revenue? How would you confirm it? Thanks
I don't think that there is an exat way to confirm it. But one thing i always do before i purchase a website is check the amount of incomming backlinks comming to the site, page rank, and the alexa rank. If most of them seem in tact and stable, i woudl say that the adsense would be legit, but it is kind of obvious of their income is way more then it should be.
Thanks lamelime... I was just wondering if there is a good way of me checking adsense revenue from seller.... I almost got recently ripped of buying a site. The only thing I could think about was to ask seller to change adsense ID for some days to check... of course paying the seller whatever he will not make during those 2/3 days of trial in advance. I understand that does not go against Google's TOS but wonder what the reaction may be from seller...
Why not ask for a selection of different screenshots, monthly, daily, channels all sorts so it would be really hard to make any fake things up and compare the pictures to make sure they all fit! I don't have much experience, but thats an idea .
Thanks Pro Scribz for the suggestion. However, the problem with that is that if they take the statistics from another site and just change the name (with photoshop is really easy), then you would never know. And the statistics will all fit.
The best thing to do is get your own ads up on the site for a few days and also a stats counter code so you can see for yourself where the traffic is comming from and how much the site makes every day. If I was the seller I would happily do that if the prospective buyer agreed to pay up the average adsense revenue in advance.
The only way to do is to ask him to send a print screen picture of the Adsense report page, but there is a possibility that he may amend it with photoshop.
Yeah, smfseo's suggestion would definitely be the best way. That way, you wouldn't be cheated. Some people might attempt to cheat the buyer out doing this, though.
Interesting info but I think they are a little off on what sites are worth. If there not and someone comes up with $45 G's mass cops is yours As far as the income verification the seller can log into Google, go to "Report Manager" Here on this page, you can edit your saved reports and set up schedules to have reports emailed to the address of your choice. Please note that monthly reports are sent on the first day of the month, while weekly reports are sent every Monday. You can email to more than one address. This is not against Google TOS as they post the following warning: I think that might be the best way to do it. I would not rely on screen shots.
