how to conduct keyword research?

    i want to get a detailed explanation about how to go for a keyword research.I will be using https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal for the same.Suppose if i want to have a site of "World's best tourist destinations".
    1.what should be the first step i should be doing?
    2.what word should i enter in the google keyword tool....so that i can get some keywords for my above niche?
    3.If it returns say 100 keywords.....should i use all the 100 keywords in my site?
    4.how can i know which keywords are in greater demand but have lesser competition?
    5.how can i know what are the minimum bids for these keywords?
