Hello, I am using the plugin W3 Total Cache to Cache Posts... However its not compressing images.... and is not caching images in sidebar (that is images added via widgets) So how do I compress the images and cache images in the sidebar? - Minterest
Hi Mintrest, If I remember correctly W3 cache will actually cache the pages so that the dynamic PHP pages are stored as HTML and not have to be generated each time. However it doesn't actually cache (or compress) local or remote images at all it is purely for managing the dynamic page generation of your blog itself. If you need to compress images to make them smaller I would suggest you do so locally before you upload them to your blog (with something like Gimp). Hope that helps. If not fire away any questions. Not that I am aware of (or have ever used personally) someone else might hopefully have some knowledge of one that does but none that I have ever come across. Stu
Hey guys keep an eye on JpegMini: http://www.paulspoerry.com/2012/jpegmini-shrinks-jpeg/ http://www.jpegmini.com/main/home They're not ready for Wordpress consumption yet, but they are working on a Cloud solution it seems and offer a server installation system... doesn't sound shared host friendly though.
