I dont think a complete format is a must. Im a computer tech at Computers services and ink here in my town.

The basic virus like spyware and malware can all easily be deleted with certain programs and manual deletion.

The viruses which i like to call PAINS! like Vundo and vundo varients i have successfully deleted but sometimes a format is best just to make sure the virus is gone.

good advice but only do this when you can't get rid of the virus which are rare but usually people get worms!

You've gotta reformat it and load the O.S. again. If you have a brand name computer like Dell or HP, it's even easier. All you have to do is just use the backup CDs that come with the systems.

Thanks for the informative article, I wish I had so many applications installed on my PC. But by th way, installing so many applications will have an effect of slowing down my PC, isn't it ?

You really pointed out how to put an end to those damn Malwares. Nice article Dude. I also heard that there's a also a manual removal of a virus on a computer. I wish that you have some sites that give that kind of guides. But there's a site that i have been subscribed to (it's for free) It's http://www.systemsecurityinstitute.org. I subscribe to their weekly news letter they provide me updates about the latest malware that is really dangerous to your computer privacy and guides on how to manually remove a Malware from a computer. But still I'm open for more info. So thanks dude again nice article.
