my city name is pondicherry and i registered site name with www.pondicherrytimes.com , but when i search with the name pondicherry, i can see my site in google its in 69 place ..

How long has your website launched? Count from the first day website published and not a day you registered its domain. You cannot expect to rank for its name if it is a new site status. You can either wait for build up some link to help with backlink profile.

It really takes some time to rank on the first page. You need to analyze your on page optimization, build more and more quality links and provide great content.

 

It boils down to good keyword selection and quality linkbuilding. I suggest you use the Google keyword suggestion tool and come up with keywords that generate good search volume. Then proceed to building backlinks.

you can find keywords and you have to use those keywords to get links from other websites, you can use same keywords while commenting friends blog too then its position also come on top than before.

 

You need to build some high PR back links using that keyword as the links title.

The last 3 or 4 search results for that keyword don't have that keyword in the domain like you do so it shouldn't be that hard to get to the front page. Now getting one of the top 6 spots is going to be hard. You will need high PR, relevant back links using that keyword as the anchor text of your link.

 

Well, I would say websites which are active online for less than one year rather new because trust and web ranks need some time to be gained.
