How to choose domain name for directory?

    I have just started to create a webdirectory. I need an advice how to choose the domain name for it?

    Yes, as in any domain purchase, try and get the key words in the domain.
    There are 2 schools of thought here:

    Either just buy any old piece of Cheap crap, work your ass off to get some average PR, because your domain sucks, and you have no marketing budget, or:
    Get serious and act like you really want to make a living online and pay for something that will benefit you, match your marketing plan, increase in value, and is memorable, brandable and marketable.

    Most people do the first one, and live on Hope, people with business skills that are serious about their online business do the latter because the crap is too tedious to shoot for mediocrity.

    A good brandable 4 letter domain would be the best IMO, but you can also use combination of few words like "Best Directory Online" etc.

    Thank you all for good advice. Is there any difference for google if my domain name and on .com or .by or .info?

    TLD doesn't make much difference to search engines but you might lose some visitors because most people remember go to .com websites..
