First you can Google adwords keyword tool and second manually by search engine.

 

I want to know about keywords if we choose low keyword and and then optimize our website or blog it will be fine or not.Through low you can go for high.If you choose high then its very tough to meet competitors.Is this techniques good or not kindly help me..

If you choose low competitive keywords, you can easily get the traffic from it. Actually, there is no need for optimising low competitive keywords, search engines itself crawl it, and you get visitors from it. Make sure that you submit sitemap and add robots.txt to your website,for easy crawling.
Secondly, if you have to use highly competitive keywords, use long tail keywords.
e.g- If the keyword is "What is SEO"? Which is a competitive keyword, try to optimize the keyword - What is SEO in internet marketing and etc.
I have done the similar thing for my website - seolinktech.com
Just go through it, and see how I have optimized the keywords on it.

 

I combine either both techniques or select keywords with both a medium/low level of competition and a high search volume per month at the same time.

Choosing a keyword for web site is more difficult than promoting that keywords.Your keyword should be relevant to your sites niche .Searches should be maximum for such a keyword.

 

what is meant by niche?

 

Niche means specific industry or specific category.
